Motorcycle Tour Route Details

Day 1 - Arrival at Srinagar Airport & transfer to Sonamarg

Sonamarg Altitude - 6700 ft. Expected temp - 5 to 23 C.

Arrive at Srinagar Airport where our team will be waiting for you. We depart in a group in Coach to Sonamarg at a fixed time. The departure time will be communicated in advance, So, please schedule your arrival accordingly. After checking in at Sonamarg Hotel, you are free to wander the meadows if you wish. Get back to the hotel in the evening for orientation and group meet up. Learn all about the road trip in orientation - the roadmap, riding etiquette, pitfalls, & rules followed by bike allocation. Please test the bike allotted to you & inform the team of adjustments if any. Dinner will be served at the hotel. Overnight at Sonamarg Hotel.

Day 2 - Sonamarg - Zoji La – Kargil (125 Km)

Sonamarg Alt. - 9100 ft. Kargil Alt. - 8780 Ft. Key Attractions - Drass memorial, Zoji La Pass, Machoi Glacier

After breakfast, we start the journey to Kargil. After getting through the police checkpoint, we will head to Zoji La Pass. The road is designed to test your endurance and skills, witness the glacier once reaching the top point. Later we head to Drass, the second coldest inhabited town the world. While at Drass, it is must to visit historical kargil war memorial & pay tribute. You will be surprised by the road condition till Kargil. Overnight at Kargil hotel.

Day 3 - Kargil -Lamayuru – Leh ( 230 Km)

Kargil Alt. - 8780 feet Leh Alt. - 11500Ft Key Attractions - Fotu La, Namik La, Lamayuru, Moonland of Ladakh

We will start early on this day. Being the most beautiful stretch, you can’t help yourself taking photos and videos at Fotu La (13478ft) and Namika La (12139ft). Catch a glimpse of one of the Oldest monasteries while riding across Lamayuru. Later we will make a stop at the famous Moon land of Ladakh. En route, we will come across the Magnetic Hill. Slowly we will descend towards the Leh city. Overnight at Leh hotel.

Day 4 - Leh - Khardung La- Nubra (150 Km)

Nubra Alt. - 10080 feet Leh Altitude - 11500Ft Key Attractions - Highest Motorable Road, Khardung Village

We will ride on the road above 18000 ft, maintained by Border Road Organisation. Steep turns, low oxygen & weather unpredictability ranks the ride among the most challenging ride. We will make a photo stop at the top for the customary photograph with the landmark board. Later we ride downhill towards Nubra Valley. We will make a stop at Diskit Monastery for prayers. Overnight stay at Nubra Valley campsite or guesthouse.

Day 5 - Nubra - Shyok – Pangong (180 Km)

Key Attractions - Karakoram Mountain Range, Shyok River

It is a day of making a way in mud & water crossings. The Shyok valley acts as a wind tunnel; shaking biker and his ride by powerful winds. Sandstorm and rolling stones are very usual crossings. Few water crossings en route are so huge and challenging, nothing like you have seen before. Later, face hilly curves along the Shyok river. Overnight camp stays at Tangste or Spangmik.

Day 6 - Pangong – Loma – Hanle (220 Km)

Pangong Alt. - 15280 ft Hanle Alt. - 14763 Ft Key Attractions- Pangong Lake, Razang La War Memorial, Chusul War Memorial

You need to start very early on this day. After a photo session at the Pangong Lake of all Karinas and all Aamirs, we head towards the second highest optical telescope in the world. The riding day asks for long hours hence we will take minimal photo stops. Dirt road prevails till Loma and takes huge ride time. Road blockages may lead to route change extending the ride hours by 3 to 5 hours. Riders need to have a mature attitude in such cases and cooperate with the team. We will stop at war memorials only if the Captain finds suitable as we are trying to reach Hanle before Sunset. Overnight stay at dormitory or homestay at the remotest place. Please expect no luxuries.

Day 7 - Hanle – Chumathang – Leh (160 Km)

Hanle Alt. - 14763 Ft Leh Altitude - 11500Ft Key attractions – Chumathang Valley, Rupshu Plateau

After a wonderful starry night at the homestay, we leave for Changthang plateau of the Rupshu Valley. You ride on the same road till Loma. You are sure gonna get dirty in the dusty earthen road. You start riding along the beautiful valley of the Indus River till Mahe. Tthe road will turn comfortable to ride with few rough patches surrounded by spectacular brown mountains. En route Leh, you get to see a small but beautiful town of Chumathang. The road width of the road will increase as the river size mammoths. You will reach Leh without hiccups. Overnight at Leh hotel.

Day 8 - Leh - Morey plains - Pang (180 Km)

Leh Altitude - 11500Ft Pang Altitude - 15280 Ft Key Attractions - Morey Plains, Tanglang La

After breakfast, we ride to refuel for the next 350 km. Later, we continue the ride on Manali -Leh Highway; witness colour changing mountains and topography while heading to Tanglang La riding along the subsidiary river of the Indus river. There shall be rapid mercury drop as we ride to Tanglang La top (17480 ft). Later, we start riding to Morey plains, the most picturesque road. Overnight stay at the dormitory-style transit camp of Pang.

Day 9 - Pang - Sarchu - Keylong (190 Km)

Pang Altitude - 15280 feet Keylong Altitude - 10100Ft Key Attractions - 21 hairpin Ghataloops, Baralachla Pass, Suraj Tal

We assemble after breakfast & load the luggage on Car. When we ride on this day, be mindful riding on this ironic patch - toughest yet most beautiful. Weather and road conditions on the terrain are very unpredictable on passes - Baralach La, Naki La, & Lachung La; road blockades, landslides, snowfall etc are frequent. Roads will turn slightly comforting after Zing-Zing Bar as we continue the ride to Keylong. Overnight at Keylong hotel.

Day 10 - Keylong - Rohtang – Manali (120 Km)

Manali Altitude - 6700 Ft Keylong Altitude - 10100Ft. Key attractions - Rohtang pass, Sissu Waterfalls

After breakfast, we will start the ride early to reach Manali on time. Witness the heart-shaped waterfall near Sissu. The lush green surrounding is ought to make the ride delightful. Expect several hurdles riding uphill to the top and traffic when going downhill to Manali. Drop the bikes at the drop point at Manali & hand over keys to the team. Our team bid goodbye to everyone from this point. You are free to go around but reach Manali bus stop on the time stated by the team to catch the bus to Delhi. Dinner not included in Bus.

Day 11 - Departure

After you reach Delhi, bid farewell to each other. You will depart with memories and friends for life. Here onwards you continue to your lives and cities.
