We will travel by car for roughly 5 hours to Kigwema, One of the most loved tourist spot in the entire of North East India. Enjoy the view of small Naga Hills on the way to Kohima. After the hilly ride, we will reach our homestay. Later in the evening, we will go out for a walk to a secret village, famous for being the host of cultures. Any Guess? After spending the night in the village surrounded by paddy field hills, we will go for a small drive to Viswema. Just after an odd 10 km from your homestay, we will be making a stop at the ‘Plastic Checkpoint’. Ever heard of it? No! No problem, let me explain. It is sustainable tourism practice. You need to make a cash security deposit for all the plastic you carry in the sensitive area. You get your deposit back if you bring back all the plastic. Isn’t it great!! Beyond the checkpoint, we will travel 10 more kilometres to reach the trek start point. Get ready to trek on a steep ascend trail for a kilometre in the bush bamboo forest. Later, you will trek a slightly easier 4 kilometres trail, up and down Naga hill. Enjoy the lush green ambience of the valley while walking to the homestay. Once you reach the homestay, you will have to decide whether you will prepare the meal by renting utensils, buying firewood or you would buy the dinner (Dal-Chawal only). Enjoy the amazing night at the dormitory with bare minimum essentials & a bonfire.

Day 3 - Dzouko Valley – Sunrise Point – Jakhama – Kigwema (17 Km)

The day will start pretty early. We will start by 4 AM to witness the sunrise point. The trek to start the day with a blast, walk on the steep trail surrounded by greenery. This stretch is expected to be completely quiet, with the only sound you hear would be birds’ chattering. Interestingly, this part of the trail is considered to be a bird watchers’ paradise. Enjoy the views from the sunrise point. Later if you have energy left, we will climb down into the valley for 4 kilometres. The path down is full of caves and ponds. You can enjoy the morning shower in the pond. These are optional activities if you consider this part of the 8 Km trek. After we come back to the homestay, we will go further to the Jakhama. The trek is for 7 kilometres to Jakhama. Carry eatables and drinking water from homestay or you get nothing till Jakhama. You will reach another pass on the ridge from where you can see the highway to Imphal and the vast spread of Vishwema Village. Enjoy the paddy field view on the way.
